Welcome to the
Nailsworth Parking Residents Action Group

This action Group has been set up by the residents of Nailsworth to campaign against the introduction of Car Parking Charges by Stroud District Council in the market town of Nailsworth.

We will submit a reply to the SDC Consultation document on behalf of Nailsworth residents. The deadline for individuals has already passed, and the deadline for groups is 30th September.

We need your support and input to help us put a strong case to SDC and fight the imposition of charges.

SDC Cabinet Report

Please find attached a copy of the Cabinet report for your group’s information. As you know our Councillors will be considering this on the 15th December.

You will see that the headline proposals for Nailsworth are;
·         no charging (although this will be reviewed in 18 months time),
·         the Old Town Hall/Comrades car park has a limited number of long stay (paid for) permits made available,
·          the 4hr car park to the rear of the Co-op is reduced to a 2hour stay.
·         The bus station scheme goes ahead next year

There are also recommendations with regard looking at the feasibility of disc parking schemes and reducing ‘operational hours’ for time limited parking.

These proposals are subject to further consultation. If it would be helpful to meet to discuss them in more detail please let me know,  and/or if you or other residents have any questions or comments in he meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

Alison
